About the School

Founded in 1958 by Francesco Formiga, ISM is the oldest international school in Milan. Offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum for both girls and boys, it is located just 40 minutes from Malpensa Airport. Through the Swiss Academic Network, students participate in summer camps, which all students have thoroughly enjoyed.

Academics

Academic Excellence

ISM offers a comprehensive IB curriculum that promotes critical thinking, global awareness, and academic excellence. Tailored language and learning pathways help students become multilingual, well-rounded individuals, with about one-third of graduates attending top universities, including US Ivy League and UK Russell Group institutions. ISM’s boarding programme provides flexible weekly and termly options in a comfortable, supportive environment. Students enjoy on-site activities like sports, arts, and movie nights, along with off-site cultural excursions to Milan and cities like Verona, Bologna, and Torino.

Beyond the Classroom

Rich Campus Life

ISM offers a wide range of extracurricular activities designed to enrich students’ learning and personal growth. On campus, students can participate in sports, dance, arts and crafts, music, board games, cooking, and movie nights. The school also organizes off-site excursions to cultural and historical sites in Milan and other Italian cities like Verona, Bologna, and Torino, providing students with opportunities for exploration, teamwork, and real-world learning.
