Why Switzerland for Summer Camps
Switzerland offers a uniquely concentrated variety of quality summer programs within a small, safe, and extraordinarily beautiful country. Within an hour's drive of Geneva, a child can be at a French-language immersion camp in the Valais, an international multi-activity program on Lake Geneva, or a structured academic camp preparing for IB entry.
Many of Switzerland's top boarding schools run their own summer programs on their own campuses, giving students a genuine preview of the boarding experience. The country's safety, its multilingual environment, and the quality of its facilities make it consistently one of the most sought-after destinations for international summer programs.
Types of Summer Programs
Switzerland's summer camp landscape spans four main categories. We place students across all of them, matched carefully to individual needs.
Language Immersion Camps
French, German, and English intensive programs. Students are immersed in the target language throughout the day — in class, at meals, and during activities. Programs typically run 2–4 weeks in July and August. Suited to ages 8–17. SAN places students in programs run by schools with full boarding facilities and structured daily timetables.
Multi-Activity Programs
International programs combining sports, outdoor activities, excursions, and language learning. Strong social component — students from 30+ countries share activities and form international friendships. Programs at many of Switzerland's premier boarding schools. Ages 8–18. 2–8 weeks.
Academic Enrichment
Structured courses in mathematics, sciences, or humanities for students who want to get ahead before a new academic year, prepare for IB entry, or strengthen a specific subject. Small classes, qualified teachers, afternoon activities.
Sports and Specialist Programs
Ski camps (winter/spring), tennis academies, horse riding, sailing on Lake Geneva, golf programs. For students with a specific sport or activity interest. Often combined with language learning.
